You might know him for his snark and his charming personality, but everyone’s favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist is more than just that—he also has an immaculate taste in fashion and accessories.

And truly, when it comes to pop culture, there’s hardly any singular accessory that is as iconic as Tony Stark’s legendary sunglasses. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade or so, there’s no way you’re not familiar with the signature look.

Let’s take a deeper look, then, at some of his most dapper looks throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also other celebrities wearing glasses.

Tony Stark’s Various Sunglasses

  1. Ray-Ban RB 3669 — Iron Man (2008)

The first installment of the Iron Man trilogy as well as the MCU as a whole, the 2008 Iron Man has a special place in many of our hearts. This was the movie that introduced us to beloved Tony Stark—and his iconic sunglasses.

The frames featured in the film are Ray-Ban 3669, a pair of classic aviators with a gold rim and dark lenses. A quintessential look that never goes out of style!

  1. Tom Ford Johnson FT0453 – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

We don’t talk about Bruno Avengers: Endgame but we do talk about Tony and his dapper fashion choices in it.

A pair of Tom Ford sunglasses in the model Johnson FT0453 make an appearance in the film when Tony drives up (in his Audi, no less—yes, honey, you’re rich, we know) to see Steve.

The sunglasses have brown-tinted lenses and a tortoiseshell frame with metal bridge ear rests. Unsurprisingly, this particular make and model is extremely popular and hence hard to find.

A good alternative is the Tom Ford Stacy FT0542 in the variant Havana, which is of a very similar design to Johnson albeit with slightly softer edges.

  1. Polaroid PLD 6033/S – Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Perhaps the most popular and widely recognized of all of Tony’s sunglasses are the E.D.I.T.H. ones, featured in Infinity War and equipped with their own A.I. system, among other innovative technologies.

We are, unfortunately, still quite a few hundred years away from sunglasses installed with genius Stark tech A.I. systems but that doesn’t mean we can’t steal the look!

The shades featured in the film are a pair of Polaroid PLD 6033/S, featuring a metal rim and custom, light blue-tinted glasses. These two are in extremely high demand.

  1. Christian Dior Black Tie 137 – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

In some early scenes of the movie (we’re talking about that dreaded confrontation between Tony and Steve, yes) Tony is seen wearing what looks like a pair of tinted prescription glasses.

The frames in question are Christian Dior Black Tie 137 in the color black with custom tinted lenses. Folks, here you have Tony Stark proving once again that you can match him in neither intelligence nor elegance.

  1. John Jacobs S13801 – Spiderman: Homecoming (2017)

It’s the widely accepted public opinion that one of Tony’s best appearances was in the 2017 debut movie of MCU’s Spiderman. With his suave demeanor and sleek-pressed suit, and classy shades, Tony was absolutely in control—not only of the situation but also of everyone’s eyes.

The classy shades in question were John Jacobs S3801, a pair of gold full rim aviators with light-brown tinted lenses.

  1. Vincent Chase S11748 – Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Another popular variant of the E.D.I.T.H. sunglasses is the Vincent Chase S11748, a pair of golden and black, square rimmed sunglasses.

Unsurprisingly, this too is an absolute bestseller and always in high demand.

  1. Oakley OO9440 Clifden – Iron Man III (2013)

This very distinctive pair of sunglasses make an appearance in 2013’s Iron Man III and is perhaps the most easily recognizable of all of Tony’s eyewear.

The iconic design features vivid red-tinted lenses on a matte black, goggles-style frame with covered edges—a look that somehow manages to be simultaneously both futuristic and steampunk. Trust the king of contradictions to pull even this off with practiced elegance!

  1. Dita Flight 006 – Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019)

Featured in both of the last two movies of MCU’s phase I, the Dita Flight 006 sunglasses are a particularly smart and classy specimen. The ones Tony wears are in the color Smoke Grey or Black Palladium with custom-tinted blue lenses.

Perhaps fittingly for everyone’s favorite billionaire, however, this specific brand of eyewear is handmade in Japan with the highest quality of materials and, as such, is both heart-stoppingly expensive and extremely limited in its availability.

Closing Words

“Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off and what are you?” Well, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, for one, the hero who saved the world, for another—and somebody with absolutely immaculate taste in apparel and accessories!

Try as you might, you just can’t match up to the one and only Tony Stark, not in intellect, not in charm and personality, not in wealth, and certainly not in class and elegance.

It’s okay, though, we’re all too busy admiring Tony and his immaculate style to try and match up to him anyway.
